Men's Ministry:
M.I.S.F.I.T.S. - Men Inspired to Serve Faithfully Incorruptibly for The Savior
"Similarly, encourage the young men to be self-controlled. In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us." Titus 2:6-8

Our mission is to be men with integrity, accountability, and unity bringing Glory to God.
Our MISFITS meet on the second Saturday of each month at 8:00 am. We come together and lift praises to God, study His Word, pray for each other, and enjoy a good breakfast. All men are welcome to come and enjoy this time of fellowship and encouragement.

"As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another." Proverbs 27:17

Women's Ministry:

The Langley Ladies Group is almost one of the foundational ministries of the Langley Christian Church. It was begun with a recognition that there is much that can be done when ladies work together for the Lord. There is also a need for different types of encouragement and fellowship. So the group continues, still achieving the original goals and objectives. Ladies of all ages are welcome to participate in this group. Those active with LCC and their friends are typically most involved in the activities. There is no membership or "dues." An offering for missions and other projects is received at most meetings. Martha McCrea and Sharon Scott lead this group at present.

Purpose for the group: Fellowship, encouragement, and service Fellowship: Tea Parties (non-political, of course!), fellowship in ladies homes, progressive dinner (annual, usually in the summer) breakfasts at church, annual Christmas craft day, and other events as scheduled.

Encouragement: A Secret sister gift program is utilized to give a blessing to ladies at special times of the year. There is a spiritual emphasis in the group with prayer times together, and devotions at each meeting. Over the years the group has also put together Mother-Daughter Banquets, Father-Son Dinners, Sweetheart Banquets and the like.

Service: Two missions are supported on a monthly basis. They are Central India Christian Mission (a child is sponsored in India) and the Polish Christian Mission Youth Ministry. The Langley Ladies have also been involved with many projects at church including the purchase of carpet for the hallways and the re-modeling of Pre-school and nursery rooms.

They have had oversight of the communion preparation, and purchased equipment for the new kitchen.

They have recently joined with the Northside Christian Church in support of Hampton Roads Ladies VBS 2010 (we have participated in this since about 2008). Our ladies have planned and led the Annual Ladies Retreat at Camp Rudolph (along with ladies from the Northampton Church of Christ). Scholarships have been provided for youth going to Christian Camp.

Recently they undertook the beautification of the church grounds with flowers being added to the area outside the foyer. The group has done 3 cook-books, one of which was sold to give support for the Golden Age Home in Mechanicsville (2000 books were sold in this effort!).

Young Adult Ministry:
College aged Bible study group meets on Wednesday evenings at 7PM. Our study is a conversational study with emphasis on living Godly lives in a busy world. A study time that challenges us to step out of the box and celebrate being young Christians. Contact the church office for more details.

Crafting Ministry:
Each Tuesday from 10am-2pm, our Ladies crafting group meet at the church. They enjoy working on a wide variety of crafts. They make things for family as well as for charities. Each Tuesday the fellowship hall fills with laughter as the crafting group gets to know and encourage each other. If you're a crafter and enjoy a good time you're welcome to join us!

Outreach Ministry:
Food bank: We are teamed up with the Food Bank of the Virginia Peninsula to provide food for those in need in our community. We will be open to hand out food on the third Thursday of each month from 5 -7 pm. Contact the church office for more details.
